On Friday 19th October, the Cole AD design team enjoyed a day out at the 5th Graphic Design Festival Scotland. The TopForm talks featured 6 industry creatives from all over the world. The highlights for the Cole AD team were the talks from the iconic graphic designer, David Carson. His talk on some of his most famous graphic design work and some more recent works, we found to be inspiring. Noemie Le Coz’s talk on her new brand design for the woman’s razor company, billie. Discussing how it became a viral hit. Lastly, the wonderful presentation from Erik Kessels from KesselsKramer. His talk on taking a client brief and turning it into a highly successful campaign, we found really interesting.
The event was held at the Mitchell Library in Glasgow, a perfect location with great facilities. The whole team enjoyed the day out as it helped to recharge their creative batteries. As a result, the team have returned excited for future print work.
Later that evening, the Cole AD design team visited the Lighthouse in Glasgow for the launch night of the International Poster Exhibition. Here they could view the creative works from other talented designers. This has encouraged the creative team to reflect on poster designs they have created in the past. For that reason, we will be featuring our favourite poster designs on our Instagram page later this week!
This will not be the last time the Cole AD team get out and about. Later this month we will be returning to the Mitchell Library for Google Digital Garage lessons. Lessons in Building a Digital Marketing Plan, Getting Your Business Visible on Google and lastly, Social Media Strategy. We educate ourselves in these fields to add to the Cole AD arsenal, resulting in better outcomes for graphic design and print work, to a new brand identity or website build.
