Looking for a way of getting little ones to sleep at a reasonable hour? Well we can’t exactly promise that, but we can definitely recommend a new bedtime story in the form of a new illustrated children’s tale by Jo Raliver: ‘Harold the Hip-Hop Happy Hipposaurus’! Illustrated by our very own Emma McLatchie.

Harold the Hip-Hop Happy Hipposaurus is an exciting new tale filled with adventure in a fun-filled world. Our main character, Caleb Thripples is a very special boy who can make the most amazing costumes! He meets a very special friend called Harold who is a Hipposaurus. Join them on their wonderful adventure to Woggle Village and meet the mayor and soldiers who live there.

Back in 2002, Jo Raliver qualified as a paediatric nurse. Subsequently, she has worked as a school nurse and lectures part-time in early years education at a local college. All of this experience led her to writing children’s books dedicated to showcasing the bravery and heroism that children are capable of. Using her experiences with children, Jo approaches oftentimes challenging topics with a childlike wonder and sensitivity.

This is the second set of children’s book illustrations that Emma has created for Jo Raliver. You might remember a familiar friend from another one of Jo’s books, Rodney the Rather Rare Rainbowsaurus. Creating these familiar yet fantastical characters is all in a days work for Emma!

We’re always excited to showcase the creativity of our team and their many talents! Congratulations to Emma and to Jo for this fantastic new story. You can buy the book through Olympia Publishers, and hopefully this will be extended to other retailers soon!
