Cumbernauld Theatre has been saved from closure, securing the future of one of North Lanarkshire’s most important cultural venues and delivering a major boost to the local creative community.

Cumbernauld Theatre Trust has secured up to £300,000 of strategic investment from the Scottish Government, providing important short-term stability and helping support future planning.

After months of uncertainty, the announcement has been welcomed by audiences, artists, and residents who recognise the theatre’s central role in the town’s cultural life. Our team in the Studio has helped their Marketing Department for many years with graphic design and media buy to help promote shows. We know how hard Rachel Murphy, Marketing & Communications Manager, and all at the theatre have worked to keep up the good fight. It is incredible news to hear that the venue will remain open and protect many jobs.

Saving Cumbernauld Theatre sends a clear message that culture matters, particularly in communities where accessible arts provision can be transformative. You can read the full story by clicking here.
